about

Moss rockers as a title took inspiration from my Brothers company 'No Moss' which is a software developing company that makes apps and video games. The idea being based on the phrase the rolling stone gathers no moss. Its about keeping things moving forward and has a positive melodic theme with a driving yet frenetic groove. The beat really came together right at the end after the vocals had been put down when Nic Cassey came into the studio and we workshopped some percussion elements that were quite small textural details but added a lot of glue and subtle movement which helped finalise this song.
Lou Millar is an amazing vocalist, and always amazes me at how she can walk in and get the thing right in the first take. We recorded this on a lovely rainy day with cups of chai tea and jumpers on. The field recording of rain at the end of the track is a small reminder of this session for us.
